Oysters in L.A.
I had never understood oysters or for that matter, even liked them. That was until I met Master Ecailler, Christophe Happillon. It was through Christophe’s unique talent and knowledge of oysters (and all seafood) that I learned to appreciate the art and science of this refined and succulent gourmet food. With Christophe’s guidance, I now understand the subtleties of each variety and I really can’t get enough.
It was my pleasure to photograph Christophe at the opening of his new restaurant, The Oyster Gourmet at Grand Central Market for the L.A. Times. With Christophe at the helm, this place is sure to be a success and a place that you can be sure I’ll be visiting over and over again.
